Before We Inject You, Let’s Talk: The Conversation Every Client Deserves

There’s a moment right before your injectable appointment that matters more than most people realize. It’s not the moment the syringe comes out. It’s the moment we sit down, look in the mirror together, and actually talk.

At Hospitality Medical Aesthetics in Redlands, we believe the best results don’t start with a needle, they start with a conversation. So, before we inject you, here’s what we want you to know about the way we approach your face, your goals, and your experience.

The Pre-Injection Conversation Matters

Great injectable work isn’t about chasing trends or filling in every line. It’s about understanding the person sitting in our chair. What are you noticing in the mirror? What’s making you feel like yourself and what isn’t? Are you here for subtle refreshment, dramatic transformation, or something in between?

This conversation gives us the full picture. It also gives you the chance to ask every question you have, share what’s worked or hasn’t worked in the past, and feel completely confident in the plan we build together. No rushing. No pressure. Just a genuine consult that respects your face and your time.

What We’re Using and Why It’s Right for Your Face

The injectable world is full of options, different brands, different formulations, different molecule sizes and each one is designed for a specific purpose. Choosing the right one isn’t a one-size-fits-all decision. It’s the right product, in the right place, for the right reason.

Some products are softer and ideal for delicate areas like the lips or under the eyes. Others are firmer and built to lift, sculpt, or restore structure to areas like the cheeks and jawline. Neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport relax expression lines, while dermal fillers add volume and contour where time, weight loss, or genetics have taken it away.

During your consultation, we’ll walk you through exactly what we’re recommending and why. You’ll never wonder what’s going into your face, you’ll know, and you’ll understand the reason behind every choice.

How Much Product You Need: Less Is More

One of the biggest misconceptions about injectables is that more product equals better results. The truth? Less product, more intention.

We’re huge believers in the artistry of restraint. The goal is never to make you look “done”, it’s to make you look refreshed, balanced, and beautifully like yourself. That often means starting conservatively, layering results over time, and letting your face guide the next step rather than overcorrecting in a single visit.

If you’ve ever worried about looking overfilled or unnatural, this is the philosophy that protects you. The right amount of product, placed with intention, will always look better than a heavier hand. Always.

What It Will Feel Like

Let’s be honest, if you’ve never been injected before, you probably want to know what to expect, sensation-wise. So, here’s the truth, no sugarcoating.

The injection itself feels like a quick pinch or pressure. Most clients describe it as far more comfortable than they expected. We use numbing cream, ice, and gentle technique to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout your appointment.

Afterward, it’s completely normal to experience some mild swelling, tenderness, redness at the injection sites, and possibly small bruises. This is your body’s natural response, and it usually settles within a few days. Lips often look a little fuller or puffier in the first 24 to 48 hours, don’t panic, that’s temporary. Filler can also feel slightly firm or uneven for the first week or two as it integrates with your tissue. This is normal.

When to reach out: if you ever notice severe pain, prolonged blanching of the skin, vision changes, or anything that feels significantly outside the range of what we discussed, call us right away. Our team is always here to support you through every step of healing.

Aftercare and Long-Term Results

The care doesn’t stop when you leave the chair. We’ll send you home with personalized aftercare instructions that typically include avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, skipping alcohol that day, staying upright for a few hours, and being gentle with the treated area. Hydration, sleep, and good skincare always help your results look their best.

Most clients schedule a follow-up to assess results once swelling settles, usually around two weeks. From there, we’ll talk about maintenance, longevity, and any tweaks if needed.
